Are looking for good old-fashioned family fun? Then put our farm tour under your “Things To Do” list! Both kids and adults will enjoy our petting zoo filled with animals from around the globe. The 80-acre Pettit Creek Farms boasts Georgia’s largest camel herd with 21 camels and counting! Whether walking or riding a camel or a pony is more your style, you’ll be sure to have fun getting up close and personal with more than 20 different varieties of animals including camels, giraffes, kangaroos, sheep, lemurs, reindeers, and more!
The farm is open for small group and private tours daily by reservation only January-August. It is a pleasant 1 mile walk to see and pet the animals. We have exotics and regular farm animals here on our farm. October-December private tours are not offered but the farm is open to the public for Pumpkin Fest and our Christmas Celebration.
The tour takes about an hour and visitors will be able to pet and feed almost every animal. A Pettit Creek Farmhand will walk with you to share some fun facts from the farm as you pet and enjoy the animals. Gravel roads throughout the farm make strollers and wagons welcome.
Ponies are available for small children weighing less than 80lbs to ride during the tour. These super sweet and gentle animals add to this rich experience for the little one as well as offering practical transportation for little tired legs. Please note these sweet ponies must be reserved in advance so that they are ready to go when you arrive for your tour. Children can stay in the saddle if they choose or can get down and feed the animals as they like. Children must weigh less than 80 lbs. to ride.
Ponies not your style? How about a camel? Both children and adults 165 lbs. or under can opt to tour the farm from the back of a camel! Cost is $65 per person with a minimum of 2 people and includes a 1 hour tour of the farm while riding the camel.
